Plants have something similar.

 its done by a fungus called mycorrhiza, it is a microscopic fungus that connects with other plants, it is a symbiosis relationship, for example trees because they need minerals from the soil, and that is where mycorrhiza comes in, this fungus gives those minerals in exchange of sugar , and thus extends further to even kilometers long, also when a plant is suffering from an infection through this fungus communicates and warns other plants of adversity, causing them to prepare.

But just as there are good people who contribute on the Internet there are also bad people, this is reflected with this fungus, an example of this is the walnut tree, this when connected to mycorrhiza releases a toxin that is very harmful to other plants, thus taking advantage of the mineral resources of the earth only for themselves.

It can be found in entire forests around the planet, the enormous size, every time you go to a forest remember that there is something very big underneath you helping to keep our planet alive.
